About the Role
Popbar handcrafts artisanal gelato and sorbetto pops on a stick — made fresh daily with real ingredients. Our new kiosk at the Veranda in Concord is hiring crew members for all shifts.
This is a hands-on production role: you'll make pops, operate the dipping station, serve customers, and keep the kiosk running smoothly. If you love food, people, and a fast-paced environment, this is your place.
What You'll Do
• Craft gelato and sorbetto pops fresh daily using Popbar recipes
• Operate the chocolate dipping station and topping bar
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience at a high-traffic kiosk
• Keep the kiosk clean, stocked, and running to standard
What We're Looking For
• Friendly, upbeat personality — you genuinely enjoy talking to people
• Reliable and punctual — the kiosk needs you on time, every time
• Weekend availability required (our busiest days)
• Food handler card or ability to obtain before start date
• Prior food service experience a plus, but not required — we train
What We Offer
• Competitive hourly pay (based on experience)
• Tips on top of hourly wage
• Team-first culture — small crew, high energy
• Employee discount on all products
• Opportunity to grow into a lead role as we expand
Location: The Veranda, 2310 Salvio St, Concord CA 94520

Opener (Put Them at Ease)
- Tell me a little about yourself — what have you been doing lately?
- Have you been to Popbar before? What did you think?
- What made you want to apply here specifically?
Reliability & Work Ethic
- Tell me about a job where being on time and consistent really mattered. How did you handle that?
- What's your availability like week to week — any hard conflicts?
- If your coworker called out sick an hour before your shift started together, what would you do?
Customer Service
- Tell me about a time you made a customer's experience genuinely better. What did you do?
- A customer gets their pop and the dip cracked off. They're frustrated. Walk me through how you handle it.
- How do you feel about proactively talking to customers versus waiting for them to come to you?
Food & Kiosk Fit
- Have you worked in food service before? What was the hardest part?
- Our kiosk is outdoors at the Veranda — hot in summer, cool in winter. How do you handle that?
- Walk me through what "clean workspace" means to you during a busy shift.
Close
- Are you looking for something long-term or is this more of a stepping stone right now?
- Any questions for me about the role or what a typical day looks like?
